Simply described, it is a digital representation (or twin) of a physical object that is created so that it can be used virtually in software for programming and testing.
For milling tools, one form of its digital twin is the 3D solid model that you can use in CAM and simulation software for creating tool paths and for collision detection.
But, another powerful digital twin (or triplet?) is created by tap-testing or RCSA modeling a milling tool assembly for a specific CNC machining center. With the resulting Dashboard you can simulate billions of different combinations of spindle speed, feed rate, depth and width of cut, instantly predicting stability, surface finish and accuracy.
